The next Sheffield CTC touring weekend will be to Helmsley, from Friday 9 May to Monday 12 May (3 nights).

It’s the usual deal – accomodation, evening meals on Friday and Sunday, breakfasts, snacks and tea and coffee – all for £125. Saturday’s evening meal will be in a local pub and is not included.

It’s a relatively long way from Sheffield, 140km (88 miles), so in addition to riding all the way, there will be train assist options from Beverley 75km (50 miles) and York 42km (25 miles). Both of these stations are served by Northern, so bikes do not need to be reserved.

Possible Saturday and Sunday rides include Thornborough Henges, Thirsk, Malton and…er…say it quietly… Rosedale Chimney!

It’s a large hostel (40 beds) and we do not expect to fill it, so you can expect more space to spread out in the bedrooms and a good chance of getting a bottom bunk.

It would be helpful if you could also indicate whether you wnt to ride from Sheffield, Beverley or York – you can change your mind nearer the time, it’s just to get an indication of numbers.

I will then email you the bank details – they haven’t changed, but we have been advised not to publish them online. Your booking is confirmed when we receive payment.
