Social Tuesday January 14th, 7.30pm

COME AND SHAKE OFF THOSE WEATHER’S TOO POOR TO RIDE BLUES AND JOIN US FOR THE FIRST SOCIAL EVENT OF THE NEW YEAR!

Mark Beckles-Willson (Heike’s partner) will talk to us about their off-the-beaten-track tour of the Rhine Massif last summer. You’ll be well entertained, and no doubt also pick up some ideas for touring in areas you may not have considered.

‘Up the Lahn and down the Sieg – (slightly) off the beaten track in the Rhine Massif.’
In summer 2024 we cycled up the river Lahn which joins the Rhine from the east near Koblenz, over the Siegerland watershed and down the river Sieg to rejoin the Rhine near Bonn.  Much quieter than the high-profile cycling routes along the Rhine, Donau and Main, our tour had a special tranquil charm, some stunning high points and a couple of amusing lows.

It’s on Tuesday January 14th, 7.30pm start at the Lescar, Sharrow Vale Road. The beer is good and the food is nice and it’s a comfortable and spacious venue so come early for a meal or a drink. The venue has an outbuilding that bikes can go in but still bring a good lock.
