Then on to Thornhill, Bradwell and then climbing up to some quiet lanes to Tideswell and our café stop nearby at Beltonville Farm. Down to the Rivelin Valley and up and down several times through Stannington, Dungworth and Low Bradfield to climb Blindside Lane. Along a short downhill section of the A57 to Ladybower and Bamford for the cafe stop. A straightforward route along the Hope Valley and up to Surprise View (other climbs are available) for the final descent homeward through Whirlow.

Heading out through Parsons Cross to the Blackburn Valley Trail, then onwards to Thorpe Hesley, Wentworth and Elsecar Heritage Ctr. for our café stop. Our return home will take us through Scholes to eventually rejoining the Blackburn Valley Trail, onto Meadowhell, Five Weirs Way to Kelham and finally Hillsborough.

Much of the ride is on segregated cycle tracks and although there are a couple of demanding climbs, the ride will be at a steady pace. The coffee and cakes at RSPB Old Moor are among the best in the area.

We will head up the Ringinglow Rd and on to Burbage. From Burbage we go down to Hollin Bank, below Stanage Edge and on to the short climb up New Road, and then down to Yorkshire Bridge and across the Ladybower Dam and along the Thornhill Trail to Bamford,
We will call into the cafe in Bamford for refreshments. There is also a bakery in the village that sells hot drinks, but no indoor seating.
We will head back to Sheffield via Hathersage and take a steady climb up to Surprise View and Fox House.
A steady paced ride with regular regrouping.
Approx 34km (21 miles) and 600m ascent (a little hillier than most Grade 1 rides, but steady pace)

Meet at A&B for a picturesque G2 ride out to Leger Lakes Tearoom. We start with a few hills that we will take at a steady pace with customary re-grouping. Please do not be put off by this section as we will soon be cycling along flatter terrain! Through Eckington, Harthill, North Anston and close to Firbeck before arriving for our lunch stop. After lunch, we have a steady approx.15 miles remaining, arriving in Sheffield via Catcliffe and Victoria Quays. Please bring a few snacks to help fuel you when we re-group, and a bicycle lock for when we enjoy lunch. By heading towards the flatter East, this tried and tested CTC Sheffield route is well suited to those seeking a Grade 2 ride for the first time, and be cycling-ready for 2025!

Depart Kilnfolk 10.00, so come earlier for coffee. Cycling the Blue Route to Rotherham and back on 5 Weirs and canal trails. Cafe stop at Grimm and Co (bike stands, but bring a decent lock please) and then the new cycle paths to Tinsley and along the canal passing the Loopy/twisted barge to town.
The trails are mainly well surfaced but with a few damp or narrow stretches with autumn leaves where we will take care.

Following the steep descent to Rowsley for lunch we will make our way home through Beeley, Baslow and Froggatt.

From Baslow we will take the unmarked road in Bubnell towards Hassop and then cut across to Great Longstone. From Great Longstone we will make our way to Hassop Cycle hire cafe. Our return journey will be via Pilsley/Baslow and then the A621 to Owler Bar and onwards to Millhouses Park.

A grade 2 ride taken at a steady pace.  The journey out will use Abbeydale Road to Baslow via Owler Bar.  Once through Baslow, quiet country lanes will lead us to Tideswell for coffee and lunch.  After lunch,  two climbs, Bretton Ridge and Surprise View will return us back to Sheffield.

Meet at Amici & Bici for a picturesque Grade 2 ride into the Peak District National Park. We will leave Sheffield via Greenhill and Holmesfield, stopping briefly in Eyam to enjoy a standing drink and snack before heading onwards towards Abney. From there we will descend into Hathersage and have our lunch at the Pool Cafe. Suitably refreshed, we will complete the final third of our adventure by cycling in front of Stanage Edge before returning to Sheffield via Ringinglow Road. Towards the shorter end of the Grade 2 rides, this route nevertheless packs in a few punchy climbs. From the cafe, we head towards Wortley and then up to Green Moor before descending to the cafe. The route back follows Mortimer Road, climbing Ewden Bank the easy (easier?) way before dropping down to Low Bradfield and somewhat inevitably climbing up to its higher neighbour. From there it is a straightforward descent back to Hillsborough Park

We will take a steady climb out of Sheffield via Parsons Cross and Grenoside. Then a very short section of bridleway (recc’d on 23 Cs!), leading us to more scenic lanes before the traffic free Don Valley Trail. After our café stop at Penistone we will meander our way home along Mortimer Rd towards High Bradfield, Loxley, finishing at Malin Bridge. Our 25 mile route with 2,500 ft of ascent will be taken at a steady pace with regular regrouping. Please remember to bring a bike lock for our café stop.
