Out towards Barlow, on to the moors and then over Curbar Gap the easy way. Through Eyam and up along Bretton Edge to Great Hucklow for the descent to Hope for lunch. Back up Fiddler’s Elbow and down through Ringinglow for home. A couple of slightly testy climbs but taken at a steady pace. Suitable for most regulars.

Calver Bridge (Grade 1+)

Setting off from The Hammer and Pincers pub, Ringinglow Road at 9.30am. We will head up to Ringinglow village, then along Sheephill Road then right up the Hathersage Road, along Stony Ridge Road and then downhill to Froggatt. We will stop at The Eating House café for refreshments. We will climb home via Grindleford and Padley Gorge, this being the main climb of the ride, but will be taken at a steady pace.
Approx 19 miles, 540m Ascent, so just a few metres more ascent than most Grade 1s.

Hartington (Grade 2)

We will ride out to the White Peak via the usual route to Owler Bar, then on to Baslow, Ashford and Monyash where we will have a standing stop, please remember to bring some snacks. From Monyash we will eventually descend down to the river Dove taking the gated road to Hartington and our café stop at Beresford Tea Rooms. Our return will take in the classic Long Dale road to Parsley Hay, then Long Rake to Conksbury Bridge and Bakewell. To finish the ride we will climb home via the Frogatt Road to Stony Ridge. Approximately 50 miles with 4,200 ft of ascent, all of which to be taken at a steady pace with regular regrouping. (a little hillier than some Grade 2, but steady pace)

Meet at Millhouses Park (nr boating lake at 9:30) from there onto Ecclesall Road and then to Fox House. From there drop down to Grindleford and the steady non car route to Eyam. From Eyam we will climb up to Bretton  and then descend into Hathersage via the Abney Road  . Return to Sheffield on the A6187 to Fox House. Hillier than a normal G1, but a steady pace with regrouping.

(Starting at Kringle 9.30 (arrive earlier for coffee), we'll ride the Grindleford Nanny route. Its hilly as it includes Monsal Head and Kirk Dale, but we'll ride steadily and regroup. Out to Grindleford, Bretton, Monsal hill climb, coffee/snack stop at Ashford (34k) or Monyash (40k), lunch at Hassop (53k) and back via Baslow.
Approx 76kms, 1340m ascent which sneaks into Grade 3, but a relaxed pace.)

The Moorlands offers a wide range of food options, and it's downhill back to the start after lunch! Approx. 20 Miles and just over 500m ascent.

A varied route that takes in the Eastern Moor, the central Peak District via Baslow and  Pilsey to  lunch at the efficient and spacious Hassop Station Café. The return route  ascends through the Longstone to Monsal Head and then up and over to Foolow and descends to the Hope Valley via Little Hucklow. The last leg  to Sheffield is up through Jaggers and Coggers to Burbage and down through Ringinglow.

Towards the shorter end of the Grade 2 rides, this route nevertheless packs in a few punchy climbs. From the cafe, we head towards Wortley and then up to Green Moor before descending to the cafe. The route back follows Mortimer Road, climbing Ewden Bank the easy (easier?) way before dropping down to Low Bradfield and somewhat inevitably climbing up to its higher neighbour. From there it is a straightforward descent back to Hillsborough Park

A steady and social ride which leaves Sheffield via Hutcliffe Wood and Holmesfield.  We skirt Chesterfield, Barlow, Hundall and onto Coal Aston for brunch, lunch or coffee and cake,  whichever takes your fancy.    This is a grade 1++ ride with a few short climbs, and these will be taken at a steady pace and with plenty of regroupings.  The ride includes the climb to the Unstone TV mast from, the Whittington side and goes under the JE James roundabout at Chesterfield (follows the cycle path and not on the busy A61).

Arrive around 9am if you want a drink first as we will leave promptly at 9.30. A figure of 8 route heading out through Worral and Bolsterstone to Millhouse Green. Clockwise past the windmills to Shelley and Denby Dale and back to cross over Millhouse Green again. Up to Green Moor and down through Oughtibridge to return to Hillsborough.

We will cycle up to Owler Bar (re grouping at the top) We will then enjoy the descent and then turn right working our way towards Cuthorpe (B6050) and on towards Barlow where we will have refreshments at Hackney House Cafe. After the cafe stop we will make our way up to Holmesfield on Horsleygate Lane and make our way back to Millhouses Park through Bradway and Greenhill (25 miles)

Penistone(Grade 2)

60km and around 700m of climbing, this 'figure of 8' route takes in six sections of traffic-free cycle route with a cafe stop at Holme Coffee House in Penistone. Starting from the Kollective Kitchen cafe (opens at 9am for coffee - ride leaves at 9.30am), the route heads out via the Five Weirs Walk to Meadowhall then picks up the Blackburn Valley Trail to Ecclesfield. Here we climb up to Grenoside, along Woodhead Road towards Wortley and drop down into Deepcar to pick up the Fox Valley Trail to Underbank Reservoir. Once around the reservoir we climb back up Mortimer Road then descend into Penistone for a cafe stop at Holme Coffee House (holmecoffeehouse.co.uk). We return via the Transpennine Trail as far as the Thurgoland tunnel, where we join the road to Deepcar and pick up the Plank gate route through Wharncliffe Woods (if it's bad weather there's an option to take the main Bitholmes road back to Oughtibridge instead). After descending Jawbone to Oughtibridge we pick up our final trail through Beeley Woods back into Sheffield. All of the trails are either surfaced or hardpacked and the route will be suitable for bikes with 28mm tyres and above. There may be some muddy sections if the weather is wet so mudguards are advised.

We will ride through Hathersage, Foolow and Ashford-in-the-Water, stopping at the Lathkill Hotel in Over Haddon for lunch after 36kms. The return leg will be through Bakewell and Grindleford. This ride is toward the higher end of grade 2 rides for climbing. There are 3 longish hills but we will be riding at a steady pace.
