Advice for Beginners

Perhaps you can ride a bike but don’t have a high level of fitness. You may not have been on a bike for some time but would like to start cycling more frequently but do not feel confident enough to attempt any of the rides we offer. There are groups that may be able to help you get started. Here are some to check out:

Sheffield Cycleboost. The Cycle Training element offers adults in Sheffield a chance to improve their cycling skills, whatever level of cycling they currently have. The bike loan element offers keyworkers in Sheffield a chance to try cycling for four weeks without making the initial commitment of buying a bike.

Big Bike Revival. This is an initiative run all over the country by our parent organisation, Cycling UK.

Let’s Ride (previously known as Sky Rides). Search for free bike rides and groups at locations all over the country.

Wheel Do It. A Let’s Ride local group aiming to gradually increase riding distances and improve hill climbing.

Breeze. A Let’s Ride strand for women-only. Led rides aimed at getting more women into cycling. There is a Facebook page for this area.
